Albert Bland is one of the best running backs the Missouri Southern football program has seen. Juice has the best rushing game in Missouri Southern history when he racked up 321 yards on 32 carries against Washburn in 1994, while also having the third-best rushing game of all-time with 278 yards against Southwest Baptist in 1994. He also has the second-best single-season rushing total in Southern history (1,511 yards in 1994) and has the second-best career rushing yards (3,409). He is also the second-highest scorer in Lions history with 236 career points, and his 1,018 rushing yards in 1995 ranks eighth all-time in a single season.
A three-year letter winner and a two-time captain, Bland was a first and second-team All-MIAA selection, as well as a first-team All-Region (1994) and third-team All-American pick (1994). That season, he also earned National and Regional Player of the Week honors, while being named the Sports Illustrated and ESPN Small School Player of the Week.
He was the Lions' leading rusher in the 1993 season when Southern won the MIAA title with 880 yards and five touchdowns. In 1994, Bland rushed for 1,511 yards and 16 touchdowns to again lead the Lions, averaging 151 yards per game on the ground. He capped his career with 1,018 yards and 16 touchdowns in 1995, averaging 101.8 yards per game.
Bland has worked for various companies since graduating, serving as a human resources officer for Gateway Computers, serving as a corrections officer in Johnson County Kansas, and is currently a contract driver for FedEx. He is married to Kim Bland and the couple have a child, Porsha.
